Net liquidity = Fed total assets − TGA − ON RRP
Fed total assets is the weekly H.4.1 series WALCL, reported in millions of dollars and shown here in trillions. The TGA is the Treasury's cash balance at the Fed, from the Daily Treasury Statement. ON RRP is the New York Fed's overnight reverse repo facility (FRED RRPONTSYD). Both are in billions of dollars.
A reading is computed for every date with a TGA balance. WALCL is a Wednesday figure, so the latest Wednesday value carries forward until the next release, and ON RRP carries forward over days without an operation. Formula, units and dates are the same as on the Net Liquidity indicator page.
The two subtractions are cash that sits on the Fed's balance sheet without being available to banks as reserves. With everything else unchanged, a $100B rise in the TGA lowers net liquidity by $100B, and a $100B fall in ON RRP raises it by $100B.
